Jason Russell's Psychosis
3/24/2012 1:11:41 PM
Jason Russell, the producer of KONY 2012 suffered a "brief reactive psychosis" and was found naked and masturbating on a street corner in San Diego, and is now receiving inpatient hospital care. Should this overshadow the work he was doing by bringing Joseph Kony's cruel, evil actions to light? To read more please click here.

Im Writing in today about the Admission into the hospital of Kony2012 and Invisible Children Inc Founder Jason Russell and SSGT Bales the american soldier who is at Fort Leavenworth awaiting trial for the
murder of 17 Afganistan Women and Children. These two tragic events has my heart breaking with the impact of both their families. Jason Russell's Wife states that he has suffered from a "brief reactive psychosis caused by an acute state brought on by the extreme exhaustion, stress and dehydration,"
the family said.

What I'm wondering after watching Matt Laurers Interview with Mrs. Bales about her husband and the circumstances surrounding his deployment after being in Iraq for 3 tours, and then sent to Afganistan. Even though his wife said that he was not exhibiting any of the symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder PTSD, Would there be a consideration that he suffered from a Brief Reactive Psychosis? I know that these are two individuals who are worlds apart from each other but the circumstances surrounding their behavior just seems to really make me inquisitive as to why this has happened to both of them. Yes, Sherry, well thought out. It is indeed possible that SSGT Bales had a psychotic episode. That diagnosis vs PTSD are worlds apart so it should be easy for the treating psychiatrist to make the diagnosis. WE will learn more as this case develops.

Dr. Archer thank you, It is a disorder that i have never heard of before that is more common in other countries, but since our involvement in the wars I wont be suprised if there is people in the states who may have exhibited the symptions from this. Inbetween the Economy and the War it places alot of people into positions they normaly wouldn't be in and it could happen to anyone from what i read in the description in wikipedia.
