The Con in Congress sure didn't start with their insider trading, it started with them approving their own pay raise every year. I wonder why they aren't self-consious about deleting that perk when the rest of the country is left to pay the taxes whose income doesn't even keep pace with the rate of inflation. What i find astounding financial service companies out there for education to the public about the rate of inflation and income since the 1960's isn't keeping pace with inflation since before the year 2000.
example
Year Income
1960 $5000
1970 $10,000
1980 $20,000
1990 $40,000
2000 $80,000 Actual income
2010 $160,000 $50,000
2020 $320,000
With this type of in balance this nation is in a lot of trouble. People need to understand that the way we were raised to get a great education and career from that education is over. The Occupy Movement is a great example of what is happening. Social Security is not going to be there by the year 2040 and there is still Americans who are still dependent on receiving those benefits When they are better off planning without them in their financial plans. People don't plan to fail, they fail to plan for their own financial future.
