Dear Dr. Archer,
My mom has Alzheimer's, and because of her suffering with this disease she has inspired me to write our story. It is about our relationship that has blossomed into a true love affair.
Growing up, I had wished for someone else to be my mother, but today I would never trade my mom for any other mother in the world. She shows such strength and courage, and she has become my best friend.
Not a day goes by that she does not touch my heart. I would love to share our story with you, and what living with Alzheimer's for my mom and our family is all about.
I started a blog less than a year ago, and now have over 12,000 people from around the world who have viewed it. I'm very committed to spreading awareness about Alzheimer's.
What's so amazing is that I have met many people who have contacted me after reading what I wrote. They share that I have inspired and touched them, which is my goal. Many share their own experiences with a parent or spouse, and how they can relate with my own story.
My entire career was spent in the fashion industry, and prior to that I had never written. Today, my life is about making a difference in other people's lives. Everyone who has reached out has touched me, and I am thrilled that I have been able to touch them, as well.
