Mlongo knew her friend for years, and considered him a good friend. One night he invited her to his place to watch a movie, and halfway through it he surprised her with a kiss. She wasn't prepared, so her response was one of shock. Now he has left for school and he says after thinking about it, they should remain just friends, since she did not respond to the kiss. She now finds herself in love with him, and wonders if this is all her fault because she didn't let him know how much she enjoyed the kiss at that time?

Candice met a guy and they began to get to know each other. They called each other very often. He went to visit his dad on Father's Day and lost his phone. When she called, the recording said the phone was disconnected, and that's when her trust issues began. She told him several times she had trust issues, and he said he wouldn't hurt her, but she insisted a part of her didn't trust him. Then he replied that he decided the relationship wasn't working. Now she's begging him not to go and she'll never bring up the incident again. He says it's too late -- is it?

Sanal is 29 and fell in love with a co-worker. In four months he asked her three times to marry him. She tried gently to dissuade him of his attention the first two times. The third time she got angry, said she didn't see him in that light and never will AND from now on to keep all talk between them strictly professional. He's devastated, and spoke to a psychiatrist, but is not happy with the advice. He wants advice on how to win her heart. What would you tell him?

Amanda and her boyfriend have lived together for a year, but lately they have been fighting. He wants to go out with his friends, often spending the night away and she wants him home with her. She admits she's bitchy, controlling, and clingy and although she's afraid she's pushing him away, can't seem to stop how she's acting. She says he's the only one who keeps her from cutting herself -- or worse -- and she will do anything to make him stay. Advice for Amanda?

Erica has been with her boyfriend for five years, and has a couple of children by him. She constantly needs reassurance from him that he loves her, and she doesn't trust him some of the time for no real reason. She does things that irritate him and make him angry, just to see if he really wants to be with her. She thinks of it as a "test" of his love for her. She knows she's killing the relationship, but doesn't know how to stop this destructive behavior. Thoughts or words of advice?

Anna has known a guy for a year and has dated him for almost two months. He cannot get over the fact that she's not a virgin, although her first sexual encounter was due to rape. He says she's perfect for him, but he cannot get over the fact that he will not be her first. She never plans on breaking up with him, but wants me to help solve her problem; she says she'll end her life if he leaves her. Weigh in, folks.

Conan and his girlfriend are both 33 and from different countries. He says she's from a country where women are known to be disagreeable - they score in the bottom 20% - and his girlfriend is no exception. She puts her needs before his, talks over him and doesn't want to hear his problems. If he wants advice, she gives it to him in a way that benefits HER. He asks what he can do to change her selfish ways?

Courtney wrote to me in December asking if a certain man was interested in her. She asked, and he said no. Now, five months later, he has a girlfriend but still seeks her company and hangs out with her all the time, and she wonders if she should she should bring it up again or end the friendship so she doesn't get hurt. What do you say?
