Jewels was diagnosed with OCD and has been prescribed medication as well as talk therapy. She doesn't feel either is working. Her problems include of picking and biting her cuticles and constantly touching her scalp while pulling and twirling her hair.

AB is 26 and grew up without friends. He would handle difficult times by cutting himself. For the past year and a half he has been seeing a girl, whom he loves and who loves him. However, when he flies into a rage, she gets upset and wants to leave. He responds to this by threatening to kill himself if she leaves, and so she remains. He wants to know how he can stop acting like this -- he knows it's self defeating.

Roy's mother has "episodes". She imagines thing that haven't happened, over-exaggerates and cannot remember conversations that just occurred. Her house is a mess and she doesn't dress properly when she goes out. He ran away to get away from her when he was 17, his sister ran when she was 16 and now his 14 year old sister wants to run away too. They tell mom she needs help, but she says she's fine, that they are the ones who need help. He asks how to get help for someone who doesn't want it.

SS is 36 and loses her temper very quickly. She will snap at her husband, children and others over the slightest things. Her temper is getting in the way of her relationships, especially her husband, and she's afraid she'll lose her family. She went to a psychiatrist who prescribed Lexapro. She's not sure the diagnosis is correct and doesn't know if she should take the medication. She asks for help.

Remy is worried about her sister. She was repeatedly molested as a child, but now that she's married, her husband has no idea of her past. She's very protective of her baby and husband, but she also obsesses over cleanliness, making everyone repeatedly wash their hands and legs. She gets angry very easily and will damage things. She attempted suicide several times. Even though everyone knows she has a problem, she refuses to see a psychiatrist because it would bring shame upon the family.

Shaon broke off a relationship with a girl because she didn't have any feelings for her. After that, she began feeling stress and anxiety, even to the point of seeing a psychiatrist. She's been on antidepressants and sleep meds for over a year, and although she feels better, she's still having obsessive thoughts. She wants to know what's wrong with her, and what can she do. Thoughts?

Julie's husband is OCD. He's under a psychologist's care, receiving behavior therapy and also seeing a psychopharmacologist who has him on four meds. Rather than things getting better, they're getting worse. He is having problems with his boss and co-workers due to his perfectionism, and he is ignoring his only daughter, his only brother, and her. She asks if I have any ideas how to turn things around for them.

Rohan and family have a problem with their dad. He's constantly washing his hands and feet, wasting water and time. This is urgent, because he's the only member of the family who works, and he's washing when he should be working! He asks what they can do to make him stop this odd behavior. J.W. was diagnosed with OCD when she was 17. Constantly looking behind her every few steps, she has a fear of people taking her things. She has seen a psychiatrist, psychologist, family doctor, counselors and is presently seeing a Christian counselor. OCD is ruining her life. She wonders if help out there for her. Thoughts?

Dranell suffers from claustrophobia, and elevators have always held a real fear for her. Now she has acquired a job in a very tall building. You guessed it, her office is NOT on the first floor. She asks how she can overcome the panic she feels when facing the elevator, and how she can learn to relax. How do your suggestions compare with mine?

Krystle has been seeing mental health professionals for ten years. The problem is that whenever they get too close, she runs. She has had severe depression where she wants to harm herself, as well as extreme highs where she laughs at things not even funny. She goes on spending binges, and has purchased herself into great debt. She sees people who she knows are not really there. She wants to know what she should do. Thoughts?
