Sana enjoyed life until she was 14 and her parents went abroad and left her behind. When they returned, she did not feel love from her father, so sought it elsewhere. When her father discovered she had a relationship with a low life man, it ripped him out of her life. Now at 21, they no longer talk.

Jean has been with the same man for 30 years. Together they live with his 91 year old mom who suffers from dementia. Neither work, and they all live on his mom's meager retirement checks. She has come to hate her man who is also an alcoholic, and for the last 3 years they've slept in separate rooms. She's 56, and feels angry, old, dried up and used. What can she do?

Sara had a normal childhood until she was 11, when her dad was killed in a motorcycle accident. Her mother became a different person, going out every night with her aunt and getting drunk. Soon her home became a place to buy and sell drugs, filled with unsavory men. Her mom eventually died in her arms, and she lost the home where she was raised. She contemplates college, but can't afford it and wonders if this is all there is. What do you think? Can she turn her life around?

Hanan is an Iraqi mom living in the US and was 17 when she was forced into an arranged marriage and 18 when she had her son. She divorced her husband, but 4 years later she was forced into another marriage to a man twice her age and became pregnant. She was forced to abort this pregnancy by her abusive husband. Now divorced again, she cannot move on; she's always asking 'what if'. So what if this happened to you? Would you be able to get over it?

Rebecca found out the hard way that family court is not always about justice and doing what's in the best interest of the child. Rather, it's how can the attorneys pad their wallets best, foregoing the safety and welfare of the children involved. I've received several horror stories regarding family court. Do you have one? Do you think family court is fair and unbiased?

V read an article about a trial involving a boyfriend murdering his girlfriend's 2 year old child because he soiled his pants. Not knowing how to handle her anger, she sat to write her feelings to me. There are ways we can get involved. Does this type of thing bother you? What would you tell V?

Lynne takes us back to her childhood, complete with grandparents, a farm, a protective mom and a terribly abusive father. After their divorce, she recalls her parents still physically fighting, and how she blamed herself for her inability to make them stop. She also recalls him putting on his Sheriff's uniform, making sure the community remained safe, while her own family was terrorized by him. Jack is 18 and was kicked out of his mom's house by her boyfriend. His cousin took him into her home, and they've all made him feel welcome. However, he's miserable, unemployed and is having trouble sleeping. Is there a silver lining to this story?

Leila thought her boyfriend was the love of her life. That is, until she started questioning why his 8 year old daughter couldn't sleep alone, why she acts inappropriately with her daddy or why she gets jealous if she sits next to her dad. That's when the violence began, and it's getting worse.
Now she's bloody and bruised, wondering what she can do before she loses her mind. Do you know someone who has been subjected to domestic violence? You probably do, even if you don't realize it. What would you advise for Leila?

Fiona was adopted after her parents died, but her step-parents abused her so she ran away when she was 15. Abused by man after man, she spent time in a mental hospital. Now she's out, but everyone she has been close to has died. What does she do now? And What about her kids? She feels so hopeless.
